An educator colleague/friend said to me the other day "Max, you need to share all the amazing things that you are doing in your classroom with other teachers". And my first reaction was 'what amazing things?' How can we measure that? How can we define success in the classroom? Is it measured by our students' enthusiasm and involvement in the set activities? By what they learn? By how happy they are? By how much they enjoy the process?
Anyway, I felt flattered and excited about the idea of having a little corner online to record my educator's journey.
But first, some research. I googled 'blogs in/on education' and was immediately faced with 1.050.000.000 results-unbelievable!
As I started reading the first one I was immediately blown away.
OMG, I thought, I have so much catching up to do.
I was suddenly awakened to a thousand possibilities. There are thousands (hopefully millions) of educators putting inspiring ideas into practice, trying passionately to do their best, inspiring and guiding children to become their better selves and contribute towards the world in positive and impactful ways.
I feel welcomed into this world of like-minded teachers, where I can learn, be inpsired and encouraged to push further the boundaries of our classroom lives.
And against all disbelief in what my inspiring colleague said (thanks Andrea,it's because of you that) I am here now, writing my first few words as an educator, in my first blog ever!). Let's believe and encourage each other to expose our work and share.
thanks for the comment at Making a Difference. If you ever are looking to hook up students between our two countries I am always game. Enjoy blogging and the network of educators you will find.
